Quizzes with more than multiple choice
Short answers, numbers with a tolerance and units, fill in the blank, matching and ordering are marked for you. Written responses wait for your marks.
Assignments and rubrics

One gradebook
Each student against every quiz and assignment, with an outcome once the items you count are passed. Students see their own marks.
Your students' data
Plain answers, before you ask.
Where it is held
In Amazon Web Services' N. Virginia region in the United States. Code that students run goes to our code runner in Finland. The Skill Site's own staff and support work from India. The data processing agreement says more.
Who can see it
A student's work is seen by that student and the staff of the organisation that runs their class. Teachers see the classes they teach; your admins see all of them.
Children
Children learn under a parent's account, with the parent's consent. A parent can withdraw it for each organisation, which ends the child's place there; once no consent is left, the child's records are erased.
No ads or tracking
Pages students use carry no advertising, and no analytics load for anyone signed in.
A data processing agreement
Our published agreement says how we handle your students’ data, and the privacy notice says what we collect.
What we do not have yet
No Cyber Essentials, SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certificate, and no Clever, ClassLink or Wonde roster link. Students are added by invitation, a spreadsheet import, or sign in with Google or Microsoft.
Read the privacy notice and the data processing agreement.

Questions and answers
How do students sign in?
With Google or Microsoft, on the email you invite or import. Children use a parent’s account, with the parent’s consent.
Is it only for coding?
No. Coding questions are one kind of question. Courses record a subject and level, and coding is off unless you turn it on. Teachers can write short-answer, numerical, written, matching and ordering questions.
Can one teacher use it for a class?
Yes. Free for up to 10 students. For one teacher with up to 30 students, the Studio plan is $19 a month. It has no room for other staff; a school with several teachers uses Cohort 50 at $149 a month.
Does it connect to our school information system?
Not yet. There is no roster link to Clever, ClassLink or Wonde. Import students from a spreadsheet, and export grades and progress as CSV.
Where is our students’ data held?
In the United States, in Amazon Web Services. Read the data section above and the data processing agreement before you decide.
