Accessibility statement for The Skill Site

Last updated: 27 October 2026

This statement applies to theskillsite.com: its public pages, the pages learners use for lessons, quizzes, assignments and the board, and the pages training providers' staff use to run their organisation. RunCode Inc runs The Skill Site, and we want as many people as possible to be able to use it. We aim for you to be able to:

  • zoom in up to 200% without the text spilling off the screen
  • reach every link, button and form with a keyboard
  • use the pages with a screen reader, with each page, button and form field named
  • read text with enough contrast against its background

How accessible The Skill Site is

The Skill Site is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard. We check its main public, learner and staff pages with automated tests (axe) before every release, and fixed what they found in October 2026. Automated tests find only some problems, and we have not yet had a full audit, so some parts may still be hard to use. We know about these:

  • In the code editor on lessons and quizzes, Tab indents your code. To move out of the editor with the keyboard, press Escape, then Tab.
  • Lessons, board posts, assignments and files are written or uploaded by your training provider. Images they add may have no text description, and videos from YouTube or Vimeo may have no captions; ask your provider for an accessible version.

Tell us about a problem

If you find something hard to use, or need information in a different format, email hello@theskillsite.com. Say which page and what happened. We reply within five working days, UK time.

If you are not happy with how we respond, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service.

What we are doing next

We fix accessibility problems as we find them, and keep the automated checks in every release. A full audit against WCAG 2.1 AA by an outside tester, with a conformance report, is planned.

Preparation of this statement

This statement was prepared on 27 October 2026. It was last reviewed on 27 October 2026. The pages were tested with axe against WCAG 2.1 A and AA: the home, pricing, course list, sign-in, sign-up, privacy, terms and this page; a learner's courses, a course, a lesson, quizzes, the board, assignments and profile; and an organisation admin's dashboard, batches, a batch, a progress report, users, questions, the board, AI hints, settings and help.
