How billing works

Can we try it first?

Yes. Start a free trial: 30 days, every feature, up to 10 learners and 10 staff, adding up to 40 people a day, and no card needed. It opens with a sample course and coding questions. Nothing is charged unless you choose to subscribe.

What counts as an active learner?

A learner who, during the billing period, opens a lesson, runs code, takes a quiz or hands in an assignment in your organisation's work. Learners who take your quizzes through an LMS (LTI) and learners who run or hand in code through the API or an embedded exercise count too. Each learner counts once, however many batches they are in. Staff are never counted.

How is the bill worked out?

Monthly in advance, by band. Your first month is the band you choose, Cohort 50 or above. From the first renewal the band follows your active learners, and a period with 10 or fewer bills $49. Before each renewal we count the active learners of the period that is ending and set your next invoice to the matching band. Nobody is ever blocked for going over a band.

What about the gap between intakes?

From the first renewal, a period with 10 or fewer active learners bills $49. Your courses, records and staff access stay as they are.

Is there a minimum term?

No. There is no minimum term and no setup fee, and you pay nothing before your first month. Cancel any month: cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for, and you can undo it until then. We do not refund part of a month.

What if a payment fails?

Stripe retries and emails you. For 14 days everything keeps working and admins see a banner. After that staff can view and export but not change anything while learners keep working, and if it is still unpaid your organisation is paused. Paying restores it at once.

What happens to our data when we leave?

You have 60 days after your last paid period (or your trial) to view and export your learners, grades, attendance, submissions and reports. After that your organisation and its files are erased.

Can we pay yearly?

Not yet. Billing is monthly.

What costs extra?

Nothing in checkout. On request we also import another course for $250 or add an extra live-assessment window for $100, invoiced separately.

Currency and tax

Prices are in US dollars and exclude taxes. RunCode Inc charges you monthly through Stripe by card. The service is for businesses: at checkout you give your business tax number where your country has one, and Stripe calculates any tax due.
